Happy Birthday! The Cleveland and Teesside Local History Society is 50 years old today!

Today is the 50th Birthday of the Society!

The Society was ‘born’ on Friday 9th February 1968 at 37 Harrow Road at 37 Harrow Road, Middlesbrough (then still part of Yorkshire).

Present at the birth were Mr. Zeeland of the Dorman Museum and twenty-two people other people, all keen to witness the historic moment when a local history society came into being.

Now, fifty years later and with over 250 Members, we can begin a year of celebrations.
