About Us

Charity Commission Number: 516363
Promoting interest in all aspects of local history concerning Cleveland and Teesside since 1968.

About

Our members carry out research into the historical, industrial, architectural, archaeological and sociological evolution of the area and its adjoining regions, and then disseminate that research through talks, written articles and other means.

We have regular talks by invited speakers on topics of interest, as well as occasional themed day schools.

We also take part in visits and tours of places of interest.

We encourage the preservation and use of historical documents, and the preservation of buildings and other material objects of historical importance.

We promote and support local history projects and work closely with local archives, libraries, museums and groups connected with archaeology, family history and industrial archaeology.
