We are all looking forward to the first Day School of the year which takes place on Saturday 10 March 2018.

Open to both Members and also those who are not Members, the Day School marks the 250th anniversary of the start of Captain Cook’s voyages of exploration.

Six excellent and entertaining speakers – Paul Menzies, Robin Daniels, Ian Pearce, Ian Lawrence, Tony Nicholson and Phil Philo – will be exploring life in Captain Cook’s Cleveland, the landscape, Great Ayton and some of the people that Cook knew, as well as James Cook’s youth from Marton to Whitby.

Held in partnership with the Teesside University Centre for Regional and Local Historical Research, the Day School will take place in the Europa Building on Woodlands Road, Middlesbrough on Saturday 10th March 2018.

For members of the public, admission is £12.

For members of Cleveland and Teesside Local History Society and Cleveland Family History Society admission is £8.50.

Unwaged (Retired / Unemployed) £6.00

Lunch will be available in the Europa Building for those who want it, if booked in advance. Lunch costs £7.50.
