The British Association for Local History has named the C.T.L.H.S. Newsletter as Newsletter of the Year 2018!
A wonderful way to start our Golden Jubilee Year!
Every Member of the Society receives a copy of our Newsletter on a quarterly basis.
The Newsletter contains details of forthcoming events as well as reports on events that have taken place, reviews of books and journals, and interesting snippets of information about local history.
The first CTLHS Newsletter was issued in December 1977, under the Editorship of Barry Harrison. Barry was Editor for 18 months, then Marguerite Cockett did a spell for another 18 months. The late Miriam Flint was Newsletter Editor from 1981 to 1994, and Jenny Braddy took on the role of Editor with Issue No. 46 in April 1994. Since then, Jenny has edited no less than 72 Newsletters over almost 24 years. That makes more than 1,000 pages of news.
We know how much Members appreciate the efforts of Jenny, previous editors, and all those who have contributed to the Society Newsletter, but it is fantastic to know that the work is recognised on a national stage as well.
Well done to Jenny and all concerned!
