
It is with profound sadness that the Society share the news that Jenny Braddy died peacefully in her sleep at James Cook University Hospital on Wednesday 6 May 2026.
A stalwart of Cleveland & Teesside Local History Society, prominent local historian, and soulmate of the Society Chairman, Geoff Braddy, Jenny was well-known, respected, and loved by many in the Society and beyond.
The funeral service will take place on Thursday 28th May 2026, commencing at 2pm, at St Martin of Tours Parish Church, Whinney Banks Road, Middlesbrough TS5 4LA.
The service will be followed by cremation taking place at 3pm at St Bede’s Chapel, Teesside Crematorium, Acklam Road, Middlesbrough TS5 7HD.
Geoff Braddy has stated that all are welcome to attend.
Family flowers only, but the family request that those attending the funeral wear a splash of colour to celebrate Jenny’s life.
Following the service and cremation, people are invited to assemble again at St Martin of Tours Parish Church for refreshments, and to share memories of a very special lady.
