We are excited to announce our summer programme of events for members.
We’d love for you to join us on one or all of these dates, which are a great chance to get out there and enjoy history in the flesh with expert guides and speakers, and also to socialise with fellow members.

Wednesday 24th May, 2pm
250 years of Skelton’s history: 1770-2020
Join Peter Appleton for a walk through Skelton which combines the evidence of the buildings, together with a knowledge of local events, to explain when, how, and why the village changed from a largely rural, estate-dominated community, through a suburban dormitory for heavy industry, to the craft and artisan-dominated community of today.

Tour the Ormesby Hall Attics
A visit to Ormesby Hall like no other. Tour the attic spaces of the Grade I building with the House and Conservation Team – an area not usually accessible to the public. There’s also the chance to explore the gardens, tearoom, and see the refreshed interpretations of the hall in the new 2023 exhibitions.
£7 per person (£2 for National Trust members).
Saturday 29th July, 10am
Guided tour of Kiplin Hall, North Yorkshire
A visit to Grade I listed Kiplin Hall, situated between Northallerton and Richmond. Tour the house with one of our expert guides. Learn about the founding of Maryland, the history of the four families related by blood or marriage who owned Kiplin Hall, and some Royal connections. Chance to explore the gardens and visit the tea rooms after.
£15 per person. Spaces limited. Transport to/from the hall not provided.
